2013 Leadership Wilson

The idea for Help Quest came out of a discussion between the UT Extension, Wilson County Community Coalition and the Wilson County Health Council. Leadership Wilson's Executive Director, Dorie Mitchell, created a project for the 2013 class that focused on community services. The 2013 Leadership Wilson Help Quest team worked diligently to bring this vision to a reality. The team members are listed below.

Mike Ripski

Mike has been a United Methodist pastor since 1975 in west and middle Tennessee. In 1993 he helped to create Leadership Weakley County. He came to Lebanon in 2011 as Senior Pastor of First United Methodist Church in Lebanon where he continues to serve.

Jim Gibbs

Jim was born in Carthage, TN and moved to Lebanon when we he was 6 years old.  Jim attended local schools and completed 2 years at Cumberland University.  He attended pharmacy school at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama graduating in 1979.  Jim worked as a pharmacy in retails stores as well as University Medical Center until he opened Gibbs Pharmacy in 1989.  Jim is married to wife, Sandra, and they have three children:  Lauren, Emily and Jake.  They have one grandchild, Eve (2 years old) and they reside in the Possumtown community.

Helen McPeak

Helen is a lifelong resident of Wilson County, TN.  Helen is a graduate of Watertown High School and attended Cumberland University.  Helen is a realtor with Crye-Leike Realtors and member of the Eastern Middle Tennessee Realtors Association.  Helen is also the Executive Director of Wilson County Promotions which sponsors the Wilson County Fair and Fiddlers Grove Historic Village.  Helen is married to Terry McPeak and they have three children:  Justin, Luke and Travis.

Shelly Barnes

Shelly is a Family and Consumer Sciences Extension Agent for UT/TSU Extension in Wilson County.  Shelly is a native of Cannon County, but loves working and giving back to Wilson County.  Shelly holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Family and Consumer Science, a Master of Science degree in Human Sciences and a Certificate of Gerontology.  Shelly completed her coursework at Middle Tennessee State University.  She also holds a special endorsement of Certified Family Life Educator (CFLE) from the National Council on Family Relations.  Shelly is married to Johnny Barnes and they reside in Alexandria, TN.

Gail Proctor

Gail is a lifelong resident of Wilson County.  She is a graduate of Watertown High School.  She is widowed with a daughter, Katlin, who is a junior at Lebanon High School.  Gail attends Friendship Baptist Church.  Gail is a board member for the Wilson County Youth Ranch and volunteer for the Habitat for Humanity, Wilson County division.

David Kimble

David is the Owner and Chief Manager of 3DE Engineering LLC.  He is a registered professional engineer with over 30 years experience in design of HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems for IT facilities, hospitals, schools, governmental, office, retail and other commercial buildings.  David and Sally, his wife of 37 years, are the parents of Matt Kimble and Lori Kovach and grandparents of Sarah, Zachery and Joshua Kovach.   David enjoys fishing, photography, gardening, golf, reading and spending time with the family.
